Anyone in Canada have my old '67?? Trying to find our 1967 Chevy with no luck!

I know this a complete long shot but would like to share my story in hopes of finding our old '67 chevy! My Dad bought and restored a 4 wheel drive short box '67 chevy back around 1994ish, we live in Montana. It was his daily driver up until around the year 2000 when he restored it from top to bottom again and only drove it on "good weather days!" I grew up in this truck and it was sold at the Silver Auto Auction house in Spokane, WA in 2008 I believe. I was told it went to Canada after that. Myself, my friend who is a private investigator, and a few other car friends in MT have been looking for it for months and have hit many dead ends! The main reason I am wanting this truck back is because all my memories of my dad are in it! My dad now has frontotemporal dementia and is in the end stages, the sad part is he doesn't even remember the truck that he loved. I would love nothing more than to pull up in it and pick him up! My dad was a motor head his whole life, he built many amazing muscle cars and to my disappointment always ended up selling them within a few years. This truck is the only vehicle he owned for a long time and he used to pick me up from school in it! I would love nothing more than to have it back in our family for good! I will post pics, and give a description of what it looked like when we had it. I have the vin and info on the auction house if anyone knows anything I would love to talk to you! My email is missenvy87@gmail.com, or you can message me here. The dealer that sold the truck was out of Montana. Description: Color: Two toned Black (bottom) burnt orange (top) with 3 silver pin stripes between colors, cowl induction hood, Chrome rims with bf good wrench tires. Engine: hopped up 350! Interior: Gray cloth bucket seats (no center counsel), tack on dash, 88-93ish Chevrolet steering wheel, chrome jockey box, automatic shifter on floor. IF YOU HAVE ANY INFO IT WOULD BE GREATLY APPRECIATED! THANKS

Post the VIN number. Custom features have a way of changing with a new owner.

If you carfax the vin will it tell you any info on where the truck is? I would love to find my dads 70ss nova he sold after I was born and was told if I had the vin I could find it through carfax. Don't have it though and dmv doesn't go that far back.

If you have a VIN you can do a search of PO's up here and from that usually track down the last registered owner. Cost $20 or so I think. Not sure if all provinces offer it though. The other option is do a Carfax as that'll tell you when and where it was registered last and from there contact the local DMV for a record search.

I found out that carfax doesn't work for my dads truck because VIN numbers were shorter then they are now! Not sure it that is the same for your car or not.

Thank you so much! I really appreciate that! And yes it is a beautiful truck, it was a rough day when my dad sold it!

Thanks, not sure if its not registered at all or totaled since we have hit all dead ends. I do have the VIN, where do I go to do a search in Canada??? Carfax hasn't worked because the VIN is shorter because of how old the truck is! Any advise I will try though! Thanks for the help!

He means appearance wise. The vin may jog an owner or po's memory on it. Anyone could swap a hood or paint it and it'd be completely different.

Subscribed. Pretty unique truck. Somebody should remember it. Just keep this thread near the top and eventually the right person will click on it.

Good luck!

I have thought about that! I am hoping no body changed it because the body work was flawless, but it is a possibility.

The only way to keep it near the top is to keep people talking about it. Like we are now.

I am especially interested because for three years I have been writing a book called The Ones That Got Away. It is about people who have sold a car and found it years later. After two years of bargaining, I just got the web address www.theonesthatgotaway.com (not live yet) I'll let you know when the website is published. If ya find your truck, I'd like to talk to you about your story. I had another website promoting the book but it went down two weeks ago to free up the bandwidth for the new site.

The idea started small but it has ballooned over the past few years to include gearhead stories from all across the globe. Most of the located cars are classic American muscle.

So, definitely keep me in the loop.

What ever you do don't give up. Not that long ago there was a guy with a truck who had sold it years ago and wanted it back and was on a search for it. He found the number of the guy he sold it to and he still had it! Just don't lose faith many have found their past pride and joys.

That's awesome! I really want to find my dads truck especially now that he is sick. I feel like I need it to keep my memories with him alive! Wish he never sold it! Still so mad about it!

Thanks! I am hoping to at least get a lead! Everything has been a dead end so far. Thought it would be easy to find with the VIN but I guess not!

Re: Anyone in Canada have my old '67?? Trying to find our 1967 Chevy with no luck!

Sometimes they just pop up. My first truck 15 years ago my a 1950 Chevy I bought out of town. Had it for a couple years then sold it for something newer. It was posted on CL last year so I went to buy it but the guy was way off on his pricing at 4 times it's worth lol & it needs a lot of work now. I'm pretty sure he still has it as he's too high on price so maybe one day I'll buy it back. But either way it was cool to see it 15 years later just how I used to drive it.

Hazen406 if you have the VIN# post it. Maybe you'll get everyone with a short fleet 4x4 looking at their Vin#'s

Go to your local tax office. Request for a tax receipt for that truck.
I did that when I could not find my Grandfathers vin number
