Tail gate letter color

I have a 1969 C20 that is dark olive green. What is the correct color for the Chevrolet letters on the tail gate. I see photos with them black and others white.

White.

In most cases White is the default color. Black use is limited to a few lighter colors like White or Light Yellow. On the 71-72 trucks with the Deluxe Two-Tone (400 codes) painted tailgate letters are primary body color.

Thank you. Finished painting it here's a photo.

Mac,

That looks great!

Care to share your method? Did you use stencils, or just taped it all off?

Rattle can, or gun?

I'd like to change mine back to original (white) one day as well. They're silver now.

Re: Tail gate letter color

I just finished using the stickers on mine. I was actually very pleased with how nicely they laid down with no bubbles at all. You'd have to get up really close to tell they're not painted. I'd normally never suggest stickers over paint, but it worked fine in this case.
