Bagged the 76 this weekend...

I've been wanting to do air ride on the 76 for a long time now but just wasn't ever sure what components I wanted to use & for me keeping the factory inner fenders & an uncut bed floor was a must. Well after a lot of researching & brainstorming and a lot of help from Low1Ton & RedRat its finally done!

Here is the finished product... just needs an alignment & she's ready to go!

That's proof that you can improve on perfection! Looks good Justin. You've got my vote for TOTM.

she does look great,

can we get some info on the important stuff, like what was used and sacrificed to keep the bed intact. im in the same boat on my dually, i do not want to impact the frame or bed but want to ride on that air.

The rear was done using the existing Western Chassis bolt in c-notch with Ekstensive 2 link bars & upper bag mounts.

I then used a Thorebeck Bros panhard bar. It is in front of the rear end due to my truck having the Blazer tank. The shocks are in the factory location with shock extender brackets. I have a set of bump stops in the notch to stop the truck just before the rearend hits the bottom of the bed floor.

The only sacrifice really is that you could go even lower in the rear (even with the bolt in notch) if you were willing to cut the bed floor.

The front is the Ekstensive front kit which is the bolt in upper bag plate & lower cup that several companies offer for these trucks.

More info in my build thread too... http://67-72chevytrucks.com/vboard/s...d.php?t=569216

It rides great from what I've seen so far.
I don't have a bunch of miles on it yet since it hasn't been aligned yet. I am getting it aligned tomorrow evening.

You might look into this kit since its a 1 ton truck... http://www.ridetech.com/store/universal-hd-4-link.html

We just installed that on Low1Tons OBS dually & its a nice kit & he kept the bed floor uncut.

thanks for that link, i had glanced at that set-up. its definitely on the list. at first glance, i did not like mounting the bags behind the axle and not on top, but the more i research, the more it looks like that is my only option.

do you guys have any feedback on or pictures of the install?

Nice!!! I'd like to do this with my 79...
Is your wheel set up taller than a stock height wheel and tire? Just curious to see if running a set of steelies with a typical set of rubber would put you lower or not.
