Has anyone had there seat reupholstered lately.

I got a two quotes on recovering my seat with a knock off leather, adding new foam to the bottom and fixing a couple broken springs. Both quotes were $600. Don't know if that's high or if that's the going rate. I'm curious what others have paid.

I'm right in th middle of a 5.3 swap in my truck so I don't have the time to take on another project.
Thanks Matt

That sounds reasonable to me. I paid to $600 to have my buddy buckets done, but I supplied the fabric and vinyl because I wanted specific patterns. Less materials provided but more work required by the upholsterer.

Re: Has anyone had there seat reupholstered lately.

I supplied the material and vinyl for a 63 deluxe seat. My upholsterer supplied the rest. $350 out the door for me. Went from standard to 5" foam and new burlap also.

Fabric from SMS was around $100 and the vinyl I picked up at a local fabric store. Went with marine grade vinyl and I have around $20 in both colors.

SMS? Looking for that fabric pattern for my '63 as well. My original seat/cover is tattered.

Re: Has anyone had there seat reupholstered lately.

I've gotten several quotes lately, all were between $300-$800. All for bench seat with vinyl and cloth.

No problem. They have the 63 deluxe cloth material in two colors.

Re: Has anyone had there seat reupholstered lately.

I can't post a pic right now but I did mine myself with stuff from LMC and it turned out great. I added a little memory foam and redid the wires myself. It took me almost two days of my spare time but I'm well pleased. I have about $250 in it.

I did mine with the LMC red vinyl kit, and fixed all the foam with cushion foam and batting from wally world. Turned out great and wasn't that hard.

Makes me think I stole my seat I bought. Newly reupholstered for $250.

Re: Has anyone had there seat reupholstered lately.

Thanks for all the replies everyone. I have thought about doing it myself. But to be honest I'm getting pretty burned out on working on my truck right now. I'm right in the middle of a 5.3 swap. My first ever motor swap. Between working 60 plus hours a week, family commitments and trial and error with this swap I'm a bit overwhelmed. I have thought about putting the seat off until winter time and then trying it myself.

Re: Has anyone had there seat reupholstered lately.

I did a reskin from Classic Parts a few years back. Was a half day project and came out pretty nice. The reskin was around $150

Re: Has anyone had there seat reupholstered lately.

I priced my seat also and the guy wanted $400. At the time it seemed hight so I did it myself with a cover from classic chevy. It ran about $150 and the foam and burlap from craft store was $60. Easy to do but no way like the shop can do it. It's a easy way to get it covered for a cheaper price. Here is a pic of mine.
