You can do it. There was a guy in north eastern Iowa who did exactly that. Put a 7.3 PSD in a mid 80's chevy K20. Since you have a complete donor truck it shouldn't be bad. You'll have to use all the wiring, gauge cluster, IDM, ECM, etc to get it all to work. You'll even want to use the ford rear end since ford picks up off the rear diff for speedo. It'll be a lot of work but be cool when done!
