A/C Evaporator Question

I just ordered a New OEM Evaporator for my Truck, because the original one is leaking. But there are large holes around the in/out lines. Someone said the need to be filled with something to help keep the cold air inside.
I posted a photo of what I'll talking about. I don't have a photo of what it looked like new.
Does anyone know what they were or looked like?

Re: A/C Evaporator Question

They were/are little foam rings:

I wouldn't stress about having that exact part. You could make your own out of some foam snap-on insulation - if you really wanted to. Or, maybe do it the easy way - just fill the gaps with a nice neat bead of black silicone sealer:

Re: A/C Evaporator Question

I've used both black adhesive silicone and 3m strip caulk. Both work great
