looking for ideas on dust collectors

I,m just starting to do some body work and I,m in a bay and a half garage and was looking for some homemade ideas on sucking up some of the dust.I thought maybe a box fan blowing into a box with a shop vac hooked up to the back or maybe some vents hooked up in series attached to a shop vac over head. What have you done ?

Re: looking for ideas on dust collectors

not sure what you're wanting to accomplish, but using a fan or blowing with an air hose will spread the dust all over your shop
just gently sweep it off the body panels with a rag or brush and gently sweep the floor
body work is dusty, wear a dust mask

in the summer open the doors and windows to keep clean air in the shop
i have a delta ambient air filter in my shop for woodworking dust in the winter
it came in very handy when doing all my fiberglass interior panels

for sanding bondo I use a square box fan in the rafters pointing down, with square furnace filters piled up on top.

Now that's a good idea! I'll just suspend the fan from the ceiling. Those fans are pretty cheap.
