... Troll's Revival....

Two years ago, I spotted a 1979 GMC Jimmy for sale with the sign just going up.
I paid the $2500 on the spot.
Looks like a clean original with no rust, factory stock with few owner add on's...

.
The Jimmy was just repainted and has new tires.

Original 350 4-bbl thats been rebuilt. It runs great and trouble free;

The interior was red/white but has new black carpet and front seats redone to black;

Grill shot;

Hmmmmm;

Re: ... Troll's Revival....

I restored the grill with new pieces, and replaced the front bumper from my 1973 GMC Chinook camper;

Spoiler;

Added trim rings to the original wheels and tinted the rear side windows;

Re: ... Troll's Revival....

Nice k5 you found there. I like those factory rims I run them on mine and I like that idea on the center console I'm going to see if it will work the same on a 80's console as my original is long gone.

Thanks for the reply.
I spent a couple of weekends trying to do a good job.
Filled the cracks with bondo, heating and stretching new vinyl, even vacume sealed with the best 3m glue available.
It turned out ok.... But it didn't hold up to time/heat/ usage.
So I traded it with the one out the 1973 chinook rv we have.
It had a easy life under the overhang of the camper cab, so it's perfect.
Thanks again.

Re: ... Troll's Revival....

Sweet truck and nice work! I love that it has power locks and rear windows but manual front windows. Odd combo, but there's a few out there. Nice to see one that well preserved with the manual tranny. Are you leaving the bull bar off?

I didn't even know those were factory wheels. Need up using the 3" trim rings. Now I'm thinking of going to chrome instead of white...
.
I really like the added height on the center console, plus more storage avalible.
I just trimmed the bottom and tightened up the covering to fit the lid on the existing console.
Thanks and good luck on yours!

Thank you, it's been a great rig.
The power door locks don't work, both switch needed sevice inside. Sorta nice touch now.
The rear tailgate setup is a pina for getting in the back all the time, but it's whe way it was.
That push bar thing was the first thing to go in the trash pile.
I've been looking for the factory bumper guard set up it originally came with.
Thanks again!
