TH400/205 Q's?

A friend of mine got ahold of a TH400/205 combo about of I believe an 85' chevy. Will I have any problems hooking this combo up to the 350 and GM 12 Bolt axle in my 72 Blazer? Any info is much appreciated.

Thanks
James

Yep, you'll have all kinds of problems. Best to just sell that set-up to me!!! (J/K). Actually you will have zero problems bolting that thing right up.

Awesome. Thanks for the reply. I'm getting ready to stroke the 350 in my Blazer to 391 and knew that the stock TH350 wouldn't last. When I asked around at some local Tranny shops they made it seem like a huge deal to swap the TH350 for a TH400 and keep the 205. This way I can buy the TH400 and 205 already hooked up. I'll be selling my stock TH350/205 combo if you're interested.

Well, it is a huge deal if you just have a turbo 400 and want to convert it to wrok with your 350's 205. That requires expensive adapters. The best way is the way you did it, all combined already. Much cheaper in the long run.

Also, how much do you want for the 350/205 when you're done?

Shoot. I have no idea what it's worth. I'll probably let it go cheap though. As soon as I get the swap done I'll let you know.

Your gonna have to redrill the holes on the frame to move the crossmember back to compensate for the longer t400. Also the front driveshaft is gonna have to be lenghted and the rear driveshaft shortened (assuming the 205 has a bolt on yoke and not a slip shaft). If it does have a slip shaft then your gonna need a new driveshaft for the rear or convert your 205 to a bolt on yoke style. If you still have the t-case brace on the frame then your gonna have to move that back also. The rest is pretty much a bolt in.
