does any body know of a website that has info about driveshaft applications, dimensions, or where to find a drive shaft by description I need a drive shaft 56" long and a front yolk with 27 splines in slipjoint with rear u joint that fits a 12 bolt rear end ? any info would help I swapped a three speed for a Muncie m20 trans in a 64 short step. thanks

know your getten a bit frustrated with the drive shaft deal. everybody does. When ya build something that GM never made ya end up with something that isn't just layen around sometimes. Here's my best guess . You have a M20 which the light duty Muncie. good and bad. the output shaft spline and the length of the tranny is the same as a powerglide or a TH 350 I think. GM made trks like yours with powerglides. that drive line probably will fit perfect. My trk has a sag. 4 speed with a 27 spline shaft. the drive shaft is 57 in long. it wouldn't hurt my feelings if it was a inch shorter. After thinken about the s10 shaft. I think that was the shaft I used with the T50 BW tranny. I can't remember where the shaft I'm usen came from but I'm thinkin about it. But if ya want a interchange I'd say anything that interchanges with a 66 SB C10 powerglide would work. What do you think guys? The other really good op[tion is have your ends put on a new tube the correct length and get a 27 spline yoke. probably cost a hundred bucks.

My longhorn , is a "long dong", @ 73 1/2 "....no chance on a 1 pc shaft! in your app, you can find a shaft used, & have it shortened/balanced. This will be the cheapest route....altho, I do agree with Frank...re tube/build, is the best way to go. If you plan to spin it up (rev),with low gears you can also go with a larger diameter tubing to help with the "critical speed" (whip). Longhorn

Thank y'all for all the help I'm not frustrated just impatient i will just have to have my drive shaft modified $230 I was hoping I could find a salvage yard for $75 I'm on a budget that I spent it all on Muncie
