Wheel fitment question
First off, I just wanted to say hi. and tell you guys how much info I've already got from here in the last week since I bought my 1979 2wd heavy half.
Anyways, my problem is is that I just bought a set of American Racing Nova wheels, they came off of a 72 C-10. The front went on no problem but the rears dont seem to sit flat and the studs are too short, anyone else seem to have this problem? All the info I could find on guys needing longer studs are due to rear discs or spacers? Any help is appreciated. |

Re: Wheel fitment question
Any chance you could post pics or a link to pics of both the drum brake face (assuming it's still drums on the rear) and the rear of the wheel itself?

Re: Wheel fitment question
Could be the wheel is not fitting over the rear axle flange. That would account for the wheel not being flat on the drum itself, and the studs not going all the way through the center. I had this problem on a street rod I built .

Re: Wheel fitment question
Can ou post some picture of the issue? I can't imagine the studs being too short with those wheels. If the wheel isn't sitting flush then the studs won't be all the way through the wheel. Check the lip on the axle flange. Should be the same as the 72 though. Maybe see if the wheel is hitting a shock mount or something. Maybe the off set is too far in and is hitting the leaf springs.

Re: Wheel fitment question
I'll head out in the am and take some pics and measurements, I just ordered a set of captainfabs disc brake conversion brackets, but want to try and figure it out so I can keep it mobile until I get that done
