Pinion angle ?

I have a 4/6.5 drop with the half inch being a block. My pinion angle is off so who makes shims or are the blocks supposed to be wedged? Is this a common problem with lowering the truck that much? Thank you .

I bought mine from CPP, they have all the sizes 2°, 4°, 6° shims. You can also try eBay, may find some a little less expensive. Mine was 6+" in the rear & I bought 4° which made a big difference.

I started with a 4* and ended up using a 6* shim to get mine right. My truck is dropped 7.5" in the back with a 6" spring and 1.5" block. Some lowering blocks have the angle built in, most do not. The 4* shim I had used slotted bolt holes that were open on the sides, so you didn't have to take the u-bolt out. I can't remember where I got it from though. I think it was 'Seven Saturdays Racing' or something close to that on eBay. They were really nice.

The 6* shim I ended up using was from Performance Online (the link above).

I was thinking about measuring & trimming my existing 2" blocks to get the correct pinion angle vs. stacking a shim on a block. I haven't measured yet but I'm thinking about leaving the back edge alone and working in the angle needed from the front to the back.

Going to tackle this when I install my HQ shocks and modify my NLE sway bar mounts to the lower control arms.

I probably need to look into this. My truck has a noticeable vibration running at steady speeds.
