Bmi built 66

Well I've been designing this back suspension for a month or so and im finally getting started on the build. Ill Post pictures as I go.
The truck is a 66 big window short box. At this time I'm only doing the back suspension but I think I will end up doing most of the truck.
Custom bent Art Morrison rails, my design for a 4 link setup and more.

Let me know what you think so far.

Re: Bmi built 66

All the welds have been ground smooth to make it look as if it was one piece.

Tonight I drew up a drive shaft loop that Should be cut out in the next day or so, and at that point I will be able to get the 4 link mounts welded in the front.

Drive line loop has been cut out. Now just need to get some 2x4 tubing so I can weld this stuff together!

Re: Bmi built 66

It's a guy in rathdrum. His business name is red beard fab shop. He has a 4x4 plasma table. The cut on the 1/4 isn't as nice as the laser stuff but it's plenty good for me. Cost for the drive line loop was $60 and $40 in bolts washers and nuts.

Re: Bmi built 66

I spent a few hours in the garage today. I got the drive line loop installed which is also the front crosbar for the 4 link mounts. Then I welded the front 4 link mounts on. now I just need to make a few peices to help the front flow a little and it will be time to start cutting the old swb frame up.

Re: Bmi built 66

Well the garage is a mess,
The back half is pretty much ready to be welded to the old frame.

This thread isnt getting much feed back so ill take it as a good thing : )

Also the rear end is not centered in these pics. I just really wanted to set it in there

Don't worry about slow thread response they are all just speechless , In aw of your skill's. It seem's most seem to chime in if it's shiny and painted but not during building not sure why?
