Bumper Swap -- Utility to Sport. What Do I Need???

I am swapping from the OEM "Utility" bumper to aN OEM chrome "Sport" bumper on my 72 Fleetside

Is this a simple bolt-up where I just swap over?

if not, what do I need? Brackets? Hardware? Harness for lights? Thanks!!

You need a sport bumper bracket kit and gravel shields for each side. It's a straight swap. I did it and didn't have to drill a single hole. Brackets can be had aftermarket and sometimes come up on the parts board. If you want NOS or OEM, I'd ask the group.

I also added OEM rear tow hooks to the frame and a drop hitch. Gave me the functionality I needed and the look of the sport bumper.

You will also need a license plate bracket and the small chrome bumper bolts that are used to attach it.
And a license plate light. Hopefully you will have an existing electrical wire for the l.p. light.

I think this is a great bumper upgrade you will enjoy it a lot.

I may have some of these parts if you cant find them closer .I wound up with some extras as my body shop lost some parts and then found them after I bought others.I know I have the gravel shields and the tag bracket. I bought a repo bumper but I wanted a painted one instead of chrome.

Some of the vendors have the complete kit; comes w/all mentioned in threads above. Unless you have a real desire for NOS or to piece one together watching the parts boards or posting a WTB ad, I strongly recommend getting the kit. Depends on the threshold that each vendor sets, but you may get free shipping, too. One call, one swipe of the credit card and delivered to your front door; in less than a week you're ready to move forward on your project....too easy.

Pretty simple project too, although recommend having a buddy hold bumper while the other person bolts it to the frame.
