What Trac Bar for lowered rear end

Good afternoon to you all,
I'm in the process of lowering the rear of my 71 SWB with coils. I've got 4" springs and 1.5" blocks. Question is, do I need a new trac bar? An adjustable one? And if I do need one, do I need just the adjustable bar for stock location or do I need the trac bar that goes from frame to the passenger side trail arm (ECE super trac type)?

Your help will be greatly appreciated
Thank you

The longer the bar the better so go w/one that does not attach to the factory location on the rear housing. I like ECE's but feel Portebuilt's is better (more user friendly). No Limits & Hotchkis would be my other choices too pending price comparisons.

Building a small, high rpm engine with the perfect bore, stroke and rod ratio is very impressive.

I'm running exactly the same rear suspension as you. Porterbuilt bar is fantastic, I noted a better ride after installation. First class joints and fit like a glove. Scoti pretty much summed it up!

Budget approach = build your own from factory parts if you can fabricate.

Re: What Trac Bar for lowered rear end

I just recently bagged my truck and had to go with a different trac bar. I went with a CPP bent trac bar @ $129 shipped and it worked out great. It's a longer one like the PB & others. I too am on a tight budget so the money I saved over the PB I also bought a new CPP trans mount. I also didn't have to change the frame mount with the CPP one, it uses the factory bracket. PB no doubt makes a nice product, some of us just don't have that type of $$$ to spend.
