Tire Size for 3/4 ton look

I'm looking for a tire size to get this general look on my 1/2 Ton Suburban.
Can you guys suggest the right size for this?
(just got some rally wheels 15"x8-9?)

Going for this look:

Here is what she looks like now:
Note the 12.5 wide mud-ish tires, want tall and skinny and not so wide.

I'm pretty sure they used to make a 235/85r15 tire. I think They make 32 or 33x9.50r15's too. I don't like my tires too wide either for everyday driving or snow driving.

If you want that more stock 3/4 ton look, I'd go with 9.5" or 10.5" wide and then taller. Probably want to go with an LT type tire. Would not go to 12.5" to keep it more stockish.

Most 3/4s have bigger wheels than 15" - lots of 15s won't fit over the brakes. Lots of them had 16.5s stock, mine has 17s now. Not sure if you're looking to swap wheels, though.

Yup, my 1 ton has the 16.5's. Problem is though when you get into 3/4 ton and up wheel sizes you also get into 8 lug wheels so that's not going to work on your half ton.

BFG makes the tall and skinny radial tires, 33x9.5x15's if that's the look you're after. I ran those for years on my 72 blazer.

From the sound of it it sounds like you are changing wheels as well. Chevy offered multiple different 6 lug 16 inch wheels, then you could go with the 235/85's.

Yes, I just picked up 15" rally wheels. I figured I would go with "i know these will fit" plus I like that stock look.

Re: Tire Size for 3/4 ton look

What I like to do is find a couple tires I like, then go to the manufacturers Web site and find the specs for that tire. They will typically have all the available sizes for that tire listed in order of wheel diameter. They will have rows and columns and if you follow the metric size row over you will hit the columns that give the diameter and width.

The stock 3/4 ton trucks had 235 85 16 tires which works out to be 31.7x9.3. So find a tire listed that is roughly that size and you will be dialed in.
