The gentleman is 90 years old and heard I sold my 1985 GMC S15 to help buy our second home. He is a GM man and found out I am a GM man so he gave us this gift

Nice. No wear and fully stocked. His (departed) wife was ready to roll anytime - pots, pans, coleman lantern, tool set, plastic solo cups with paper inserts, and about 10 pistol style lighters.

Slight surface damage on the driver side where he looked like he clipped some trees, mainly removed the paint.

What's the engine size? My first car was a 78 big ten 454 cheyenne. Good luck with whatever your plans are.

Re: Big 10 1978 :)

What I want to know, where is the tailgate and what kind of condition is it in?
Had a friend who bought a new truck back in 68, he took off the tailgate to put in a camper. After he died the family sold the truck then years later found the tailgate wrapped up in the attic, brand new not a scratch.

It's a 350/th350. Tailgate is MIA (AFAIK), he thinks he bought it with the camper on it.

As for plans, since it has 160k, future plans will be for a 350 vortec (1996-2000) crate motor and rebuild the running gear. Keeping it simple. No emissions required for this truck where I will be living.

Re: Big 10 1978 :)

Still has the gun rack in the cab! Cool. That's a blast from the past. She'll clean up nicely.

It's been 9 years, but in 2007 I bought a genuine Chevy tailgate and grille from my local Chevy dealer for my 1977 Bonanza. That and the grille were the only Chevy parts available for the 1977 thru the dealer. I would assume the tailgate was a new run they made for some reason. Same for the grille. Tailgate was about $375 and grille about $200. Never know what's still out there.
