Thumbs down 02 4.8 trans in an 02 5.3

I have a 2002 chevy 1500 2wd extended cab with the 5.3 and a bad transmission. I have a good 4l60e from the same truck in the same year with a 4.8. but when i plug the info for both trucks into the parts comparison checker, it tells me it wont work but i cant get a straight answer for why. Does any one know the differences between the two trans in 2002?

Thank you for the reply. Just curious now but you you happen to know why it flagged it? Is there anything at all I need to look closely at like sensors, pigtails, or bolt patterns before I hoist it up under there?

The only thing I can think of is the Torque Converters may be different....

All 5.3L trucks have a "TMBX" converter 1500-1700 stall, Though most 4.8L engines also got a TMBX.

Some 4.8L got a "TLBX" 1800-2000 stall. Would still work fine on a 5.3L with a little boost in performance.

There is sticker on the converter cover that has the code....Post the code please.
