'90 k1500 steering box - '77 k10 truck ?

Hi all, I've been looking and doing searches, but can't find an answer. I have a '77 k10 and have replaced worn parts and no cracked frame and steering box has a lot of hard farming miles on it. A buddy has a low mile '90 k1500 box that I could have. Will this newer box work at all for my '77 k10 ? I really hate to go buy a new or reman. one if this works. Or are there any Jeep boxes that work ? I have a yard close with plenty of Jeeps. Thanks for any kind of help.

It should work if it's from a 88-91 burban blazer or the still square body style. I'd say if it's from the gmt400 platform no because of the major changes to frame. Could go on rockauto.Com and if the part numbers are the same maybe work?

Thanks for the good idea. I did check the numbers and you're right, it's not the same. This one is for a newer style.
