Static drop '72
Well the wife and kids were away this weekend so I thought it was a good chance to install my 3/5 drop springs and update "Bruce" a bit. As well pulled off the dated visor and window shades.
Started off with the rear and low and behold everything was locked up tight, breaker bars, heat, you name it, I eventually just cut the carrier bolts and got new hardware. Then it was on to the front, driver side was a breeze, smacked the ball joint once popped free, good to go, well the other side was pretty much the exact opposite, that ball joint wouldn't budge I tried it all for a good two hours, finally gave it a good soak in fluid film and left it for a few hours, got a friends high quality ball joint separator and few strong wacks and it broke free, this is me having a coffee waiting for the fluid film to do its thing. Buttoned it all up and this is the results, I have 18" Ridler 695's on the way wrapped it 285/35/18 rear & 255/35/18 front, and I think the wheels along with the drop will really bring Bruce's style points up a ton. Very happy with how it's turned out so far.

Re: Static drop '72
It looks pretty slick to me. I'm probably going to go that route at some point soon. The PO lowered my truck but did a poor job of it. I've pondering going the static drop way for a while. I just haven't pulled the trigger and done it yet. I've had other vehicles that needed attention.

Re: Static drop '72
that looks great. thats the same drop amount I'm pondering on, I think you've helped me in deciding to pull the trigger myself on dropping mine. Whats your plans with the visor you removed? I've been looking for one for a short while now?

Re: Static drop '72
New tires and rims went on today, now I feel like I should drop another 2" front and back.

Re: Static drop '72
Truck looks great. Were the previous rims on the truck the Impala SS 17 inch 5 bolt rims? If so, do you have plan for them ?

Re: Static drop '72
Thanks, pretty happy with how it's coming together.
The previous rims were 15" Eagle Alloy Series 028, they along with the tires are for sale on Kijiji. $650
