Small trans hump, trans options?

As it states...

Is a TH400 out of the picture? How about the newer 4L60e or 6L80?

If any are possible, what's the reason for the high hump?

Thanks.

True. Just seeing what is out of the picture really.

Re: Small trans hump, trans options?

but yes, I think a TH400 will fit with the small hump as long as you don't have a factory big block. I stand to be corrected.

Nope. I've seen several big blocks with th400 and small humps, obviously not factory, but fit with no real modifications.

I've done it twice. The big block and TH400 will fit under a low hump as long as you have decent cab mounts. On one of my trucks it was very close to rubbing the cab until I installed a fresh set of cab mount rubbers, and then you could easily slide your hand between the trans and cab in all areas.

You might be surprised as to how much 45 year old cab rubbers have sagged.

My '69 C-10 is a 396BB with a Hughes TH400. And it is a small hump.

I have a 700r4 with a low hump cab. It's a tigh fit but fits none the less
