On mine, I pulled the 64's one piece shaft and column and replaced it with one from a 69 C10. The 69 innards (probably like your tilt) matches to the more modern wheels and horn, etc. I used a era-looking model Comfort-grip wheel used on a lot of 67-68ish Camaros.

You can see it in my build thread.

I still have mine connected because of a bad horn kit, but I have a horn button on the dash under the headlight wiper switches. You can get them in most autoparts in the general accessories section.
