15 x 8.5 Wheels
Hey all, just bought a set of American Racing Vectors. They are a 15" x 8.5" rim with an offset of 6 and a backspacing of 5. I am planning on buying 2 295/50s for the back and 2 245/60 BFG radials for the front. Am I over doing it with my tire sizes here? I want a wider tire for the rear but I am unsure how they will look or sit in the fender.
Does anybody have this kind of setup going on? Is there any recommendations for tire sizes before I pull the trigger on buying the tires? Should I use spacers for the rear for a better look? As my truck stands now, I have 275/60s on a 10-10.5" wide rim. No drop or anything. My fronts stick out about and inch and rears about 1/8". Any opinions are welcome and appreciated. |

Re: 15 x 8.5 Wheels
They should fit. Probably could stand to be 60s to fill in better. 275/60s on 8" rallyes fit a 4/6 drop. I think I've had 295/70(?)s on 8s in the rear of a lowered truck

You might check out this thread ... http://67-72chevytrucks.com/vboard/s...d.php?t=703601 ... Lots of good tire info.

Re: 15 x 8.5 Wheels
Thanks for the info. Definitely a lot of choices out there.
I think I'm considering 295/50s for the rear and 245/60s for the front. Just hoping that 5" backspace doesn't cause any issues as I plan to drop it 3/5 later on after I have completed it and drive it for a bit. If anything when I get my rims, I will take one of my spare 275/60 bfgs off and thow it on the new rim to see where and how everything fit before I do a final purchase. I might be tempted to go with 275/60s all around if they seem to fit nicely. Last edited by 72Thunder; 05-02-2016 at 07:16 PM. |
