15x10's for 33/12.50/15's, right???

yep. That's what I've always put a 12.5 tire on. A lot of times the manufacture will specify a rim width on the tire. my 33-12.5/15 TSLs have a recommended rim of 15"x10".

You can run a 8 inch rim up to 12.50 wide. The 10inch will be nice if you ever wanna go wider. I run 10 inches with 15.50's.

I have 15x8s on my truck with my 33x12.5" tires but I have to lower the pressure in the back tires a lot to get them to sit right on the asphalt. I think I would have gone with 15x10 wheels since this is a DD. If its mainly a trail rig go with the 15x8s.

ok, this is good, I don't have to start a new thread... I was looking at a catalog, and noticed a wheel and tire package that had like 15x8 wheels, and xx#-12.50-xx#... and I was trying to figure out how you can put 12.5 inch tires on a 8 inch wide wheel.... obviously, I know nothing about 4x4's, except that I want one! I guess its all in how the wheels are rounded, right? like, that 12.50 would be the widest point at full inflation, and stuff like that? any kind of advice would be appreciated, I'm trying to make big plans for a truck that I don't even have yet... I'm trying to get my hands on a 95 fullsize chevy with a 4.3 in it...

if you're looking for a fullsize 4x4, and even considering one with a 4.3 in it, you need to stop! even 305 powered fullsizes are underpowered. when you talk full size, everything needs to be full size. no 3/4 scale engines!

Yeah, why a full-size with a 4.3? the 4.3 is great for an s10 but won't have much power for a full-size truck.

yeah, i guess I didn't finish or something.. I was kinda thinkin that I could use it for a while, with only a little off-roading and stuff, but I've decided that its not what I want... I think I've decided what I want, but I'm not sure yet... and of course I dare not tell you guys what it is, I may be banned from this forum! nah, j/j... but I know a lot of people will have something to say about this, but I don't care... so I'm gonna go ahead and say it... I'm thinking about going dodge... I've always liked dodge over any other truck out there.. I want a new dakota 4x4, quad-cab, or double cab, or whatever its called, with a v8 in it... !!GASP!! I dare say dodge?? oh well, get over it.. hehehe...

Typically the 12.5" is the widest point of the tire, the tread width is usually in the 10" range. 8" would be the minimum for a 12.5" tires because it was cause it to round out some and you'll have to run lower pressure to get them on the pavement flat. I think i'v heard of people running like 15.5" swampers on 10" wheels and 14" swampers on stock chevy rally wheels which are 8" wide. I would run such a wide tire on a rim that narrow, but you won't have any problems with the bead blowing for sure.

Ok fellas, this is very simple. You match the tread width to a rim. Example: Measure the tread width, dont just believe what the side of the tire says, cause their all different. Now, lets say that self proclaimed 12.5 tire is actually 10.5", you no you need a 10" wide rim. As stated above though you can usually go smaller a size or two. Just remember measuring, then matching rim to tire will give you perfect tread contact with proper inflation. Going smaller on rim will give you a rounder contact patch with proper inflation. Its ok to air down for off road, but bad for the street. Tires can run hot internally causing break down of rubber.
