AC Compressor in Way of Valve Cover
78 K5 Blazer with 350. Replacing valve cover gaskets and one bolt of cover on drivers side is blocked by AC compressor. I have removed rear compressor bracket per service manual but rear foot of compressor sits right above valve cover bolt. Any tips on easiest route to getting this out of the way ? I haven't removed belt on AC before- do I need to remove other v belts first? Thanks.

Re: AC Compressor in Way of Valve Cover
just loosen belt and remove it enough to get the belt off and rotate the compressor out of the way. You don't need to remove the other belts to do that.

Re: AC Compressor in Way of Valve Cover
FYI taller aftermarket valve covers can cause problems with compressors

Re: AC Compressor in Way of Valve Cover
Thank you. I have removed the pivot bolt on front- are there other bolts I need to remove to loosen tension enough to get belt off?

Re: AC Compressor in Way of Valve Cover
There is a pivot bolt lower back that comes off a manifold/header bracket.
