Center Cap Decals

So,
I'm working on Ol' Blue and decided to do something different with the rally center caps.

I purchased some new ones on ebay. Nice pieces but they are plastic while the original ones on the truck are metal.

I have a buddy with his own vinyl graphics company and he hooked me up with these decals that go with the black and blue colors on the truck.

I also wanted to try and 'restore' the original metal ones and use them later on in case the plastic ones crack or fade over time.

Painted and cleared the lower part of the center caps with this.

After a little chrome polish on the grinder with a polishing wheel and here is what I got....

My buddy sent me 5 of these (1 extra if i goof up one) and here's what it looks like. Heck, i even got instructions! Really a professional deal...

The originals have a hole in the middle that i filled in with JB weld.
That is the little gray circle you see...

Lay it down, smooth it out and get rid of any air bubbles and then peel off the outer clear layer and...

I'm happy with the decals for sure. That center hole is still visible even though i filled it but I'll keep working with it to see what can be done.

Now, on the new center caps (plastic), if you remove the decals already on there, there is a huge hole that I didn't want to mess with so i layed the decals on top of what was there. That turned out good.

I may leave the original decals on the stock/original/metal caps. Reason this one turned out like this is because that particular decal had come off the center cap and was bent up.

Here is what they look like on the truck...

Really happy how it all turned out. Going to order another set so I can do the metal center caps once I figure out how to address the hole.

I told my buddy about this site and recommended he become a vendor here in case anyone is interested in any similar graphics. This guy is a fellow Marine AND a Car Guy, what could be better?

LDO out.

Nice work, they look great. I'm about to try to restore mine. Have been looking for decals.
