Re: 1968 Suburban K20 Past & Present build

Brothers show 2016 was probably my favorite, since the drive in was easier this time and the weather was nice. Plus, I met more members of this forum than in any other years past! It was great to meet, and talk with each one of you! Thanks for stopping by to say hello.

Re: 1968 Suburban K20 Past & Present build

Chris,
Very nice to meet you as well.

Here is the HO52 info as promised.
3rd member and cover gaskets, Felpro from Napa
Pinion Seals
SKF 25970
National 411330N
They also mention a felt behind the pinion seal if you have it, 5M89
Speedi sleeve for pinion seal surface if needed National 99259

There is a thread here called "HO52 pinion retainer" that White Whale posted a reply to on 7-22-2014 that has all the seal and bearing numbers.
Pirate 4x4 has a 46 page thread on these axles.
Stovebolt forum has a ton of info also.

Good luck with the gear swap, I am retired and work cheap, if you need help, call me.

Re: 1968 Suburban K20 Past & Present build

This thread is long overdue lol! Thanks for taking the time to put this together. Your Burb is truly an inspiration to myself and most likely many others on this site.
Well done Chris!

Re: 1968 Suburban K20 Past & Present build

I haven't been doing anything with the burb lately, since I have been taking it to as many shows as possible. This last weekend, I took the burb up to Idyllwild. It's a good work out for the burb, since it is a steep mountain road up to 5000' elevation.

This Friday I am planning on tearing into my electrical, since my tail lights have a gremlin in them.

Mid October I plan to do some axle work in the front Dana 44, and doing a 3rd member swap in the rear Eaton (just collecting parts right now).
