1968 A/C question
Hey guys my 68 has factory A/C is there a system out there that I can clean up or delete the firewall and clean up under the hood and still use the factory on the inside ?

Cant really do that because the blower motor is on the engine-side of the firewall. Eliminating the ac box which houses the blower motor and you have no air flow through the heater box. If you wanna smooth the firewall you have to go aftermarket like Old Air Products, Classic Auto Air, or Vintage Air

I have seen something like what your describing. What I seen was for a 70+ comaro or f bird. i dont know it they got them for trucks. seems like a missed market segment

Wonder where it got its air from. The fbody all the way up to the third gen has basically the same factory ac layout (ac box on engine-side of firewall, heater box inside)as gm trucks from 67 until the end of the square body. Heater box gets its air from the ac box. Remove ac box and smooth firewall, closes inlet for air to the heater box.

I see its been done on 4th gen fbodys but in their system, the blower motor is housed inside the car on the heater box.

I apologize as I misread the op's question. For some reason I got it in my head that he wanted to smooth the firewall. That ac delete box posted above is what's needed if just wanting to clean up the firewall but not smooth it completely
