SM465 transmission crossmember

Can someone confirm whether or not the late 60s and early 70s SM465 with a cast iron bell housing used a trans mount? I was thinking that set up used mounts on the bell housing and the SM465 bolted to the back of the bell housing without a rear mount. Thanks, RM

Re: SM465 transmission crossmember

The crossmember runs under the front of the SM465.

Re: SM465 transmission crossmember

Just to make sure I understand correctly, the transmission doesn't use a mount. It is bolted to and supported solely by the bell housing. Correct?

Re: SM465 transmission crossmember

Thanks! I am working on a 62 4wd and the truck has been highly modified. I am installing a 350 and an SM465. It has a divorced Rockwell T221N transfer case. http://67-72chevytrucks.com/vboard/a...1&d=1469061398
