5/7 static drop best way to get there?

I've been enjoying looking thru all the static drop pics. The 5/7 ish drop look perfect to me.

First question is there any problem with the front tires rubbing with this drop? I'll be running 15X8" rallies but I could go to 6" if need be.

Now the $64 question. I already have a 4.5/6 drop: Early Classic springs 2" front with 2.5 drop spindle and 6 inch springs,track-bar and shock reloacator in back. I have a frame notch so the back end is pretty simple. A lowering block and everything is good to go. Is there any way to get another inch drop up front with out getting into a lot of issues with the steering geometry?

Pros and cons of a mild 1 inch crossmember drop?

Pros and cons of a 1 inch body drop?

Other options that wont break the bank?

A 1" x-member drop or bodydrop is a significant amount of work for the small amount of drop. Ultimately, it's up to the builder if it's worth the effort.

SCOTI, seeing pictures of your brown 68 make me believe its worth it!

The truck is torn down now so this is my best opportunity to take care of the ride height. My goal is to have something with a stance similar to your 68 thats still practical as a daily driver on Oklahoma's crappy roads and handles well enough for some spirited driving. I've heard that 4/4.5 is about the max drop with spindles and springs. Anymore and you start running out of travel and the ground starts getting a little to close to the front x member and a arms.

What's the most practical way to get an aggressive static stance that preforms well on the road? I don't have an unlimited budget but it is a very important part of the build to me. I'll sacrifice pretty stuff to get performance and stance.

My 68 was w/a stock x-member. It had drop spindles & cut springs. Bags & blocks in the rear. 27-ish front tire. No issues & it was about 6" drop.

Thanks for the input it's always best to hear from someone with first hand experience. Maybe I should push forward with what I have. Once it's back together I could alway get another set of springs a cut them down. If I don't find it acceptable I can go back to the ECE springs.

SCOTI did you have any problem with the center section hitting the bed?

Yes it did. Knocked what was left of the original wood floor above the rear end (which wasn't much).
