What is this thing?

Maybe a horn relay? It is a Delco Remy and has 8H - 12v stamped on the bottom.

Re: What is this thing?

Probably the horn relay. Also used (or very similar) on the HIGH blower circuit of the AC trucks, as well as for dual batteries, and speed warning.

Do you know where it would have been mounted? For some reason I don't remember taking it out. It may have fallen out when I was removing something else, I also don't remember removing any connector from it.

Re: What is this thing?

Do you have any options is might belong to? If it's the horn relay, it goes under the dash sort of up and left of the brake pedal mount. AC on over by passenger feet, aux bat out under the hood, speed warning by the cluster, etc...

It is a horn relay for sure. I found the only connector that fit it, a short 3 wire harness (black, red and a big green wire) coming off the firewall connector. Plugged firewall connector into its mate and took off all the tape some ass*#*# used electrical tape over the factory stuff, what a sticky mess. But eventually the big green wire led to the horn connectors.

Thanks for the inspiration, I really didn't what to tear that factory wiring apart.
