1969 C-20 396 Intake Casting Number

I have searched online to no avail for the intake manifold casting number that would have been on a 1969 C-20 396. All I have found so far are casting numbers for cars of similar vintage. Can someone point me in the right direction? Thanks!

Only one casting that year. #3933163 ... a 396 intake is a 396 intake.

That casting is not a truck Q-jet cast iron manifold

Re: 1969 C-20 396 Intake Casting Number

My best guess is 3866961 for 66-69 396 truck.

That's the -only- number I can find that says 396 truck without being raised deck (366,427).

My 69 C/20 with a 350 came with a 68 drivers side exhaust manifold. So it is possible that you could have a older big block intake.

3883948 if your truck block is a 68 block and not a later 69 block

My 1969 C30 Longhorn 396 motor has 3931067. I was told it's stock and original, but it translates to 325 L-35.

You have a picture of your carb springs on that set up?

Re: 1969 C-20 396 Intake Casting Number

According to my book ("Car & Parts Catalog of Chevy V-8 Engine Casting Numbers 1955-93"), 3931067 is a '69 396 car and light truck cast iron oval port with Q-jet. I have found 3883948 to be '68 car and light truck cast iron oval port with Q-jet. Both of these are high rise intakes.

Re: 1969 C-20 396 Intake Casting Number

Thanks for the replies. I'll probably just get a 3931067 intake. For some reason I was thinking the truck intake was different for some reason.

It's different than the 325hp car intake, is it not? The 3866961 casting, so far as I know, is the extra-low-rise intake (like we need the hood clearance). I don't think it's the same as the car unit, but I'm no expert.

I can get you the number right off my factory 1970 unit, but that's newer than you want, I think.
