Addding accessory power ignition switch to 1968

I just finished up LS swapping my 1968 Suburban. This suburban does not have an acc postion on the ignition switch. Is it possible to just change the switch to a 1972 switch with acc position ?

I tried that I'm my 67 and the switch still worked in start and run but had no accessory. I thought 68 had accessory? Maby you have a 67 switch in a 68. If your 68 is wired for accessory like it should be you may be able to change it and have it work.

The wire loom is different. You could install the later switch and add the wires you need to the connector if you had to.

It might be easier to replace the points with a Pertronix and then not worry. I think the only reason we had ACC separate from IGN was largely not to burn your points while sitting with the key on but engine off.

Thats funny..my distributor sits in the drivers front corner behind the rad support now.

I dont like the PCM having power when its not running
