1965 GMC 305E fan shroud. Never existed?

Buddy of mine has a 65 GMC Suburban with a 305 V6. He is having overheating issues at idle and was thinking of a shroud. Have been looking, but, from info so far, no stock shroud for the 305 in 65?
Had the radiator rebuilt to a triple core, still heats up at idle.
Went to a seven blade fan, issue still there.

UPDATE: according to the parts book only baffles were available?

Re: 1965 GMC 305E fan shroud. Never existed?

What's the weather like where he lives? I think something else is wrong as these engines were built with large water ports to aid in cooling. My 305 never gets over 195 at idle...even when it was 105-110 out. I am running a large dual core aluminum radiator. I would disconnect the hoses and run water through the engine to make sure no passage ways are clogged. Is the thermostat sticking? Does the water bubble while the engine is running? If a head gasket is blown it will cause it to over heat. If I remember right you Could get a shroud, but as cool as these seem to run it wasn't needed.

I agree something else is wrong.
Tell him to check the timing. That'll make it run hot.
So will a bad fuel fuel pump: lean makes it run hot.
Bad thermostat, and a cracked head will, too.
