Rear door mods on 64 panel truck
Hey guys, need some help here! I know I have seen on this site a thread where you do away with the upper rear panel door catches(they hold the door open) and replace them with gas support shocks like on most car hoods. I have tried searches , but no luck!! Anybody else seen it or tried it? Thanks!

Re: Rear door mods on 64 panel truck
You might want to post this in the "The 1960 - 1966 Chevrolet & GMC Pickups Message Board" or maybe the suburbans/panel truck section.

Re: Rear door mods on 64 panel truck
I think I remember the thread your talking about. If I remember right, and I do not claim an accurate memory (or even ballpark memory for that matter LOL ) I think the problem that kept cropping up is the length of the gas support shocks to hold the door open wide enough made them too long to close. At least not without some modification to the doors. I'll take a look and see if I can find it.
