Unhappy shift linkage

my 72 is really low. its has a 350 turbo tranny, when i try to put it down to 2cd or 1st the linkage rod hits the header collector. just wondering if anyone would know an easy fix. thanks

I had the same problem. I cut my bracket off at the hole where the linkage connects, ground the end down smooth, and drilled a new hole. It works well, but it was a pain.
