Newb from ABQ (Ford Guy) Don't judge me...

Ford? I just LOVE old trucks, hence my chosen profile name. Anywho, I just picked up this '88 Sierra. Not sure if true, but the clock says 57k miles. Previous owner got it from an auction, I took over for $1500.00

Been lurking these forums, amazed at the knowledge and help I will get/give back. My first question would be what the heck is that little black grommet (last picture)? Was laying on top of the manifold on the driver side right underneath the throttle cables. Thanks all!!!
