Re: Good week for my collection

Cool! I have that one too. FYI green light is releasing a new black c10 with a flatbed trailer and a green county roads series in November. I checked yesterday at the local TRU and Walmart. I came up with nothing.

Re: Good week for my collection

Nice score! I just won 6 of those on ebay a few days ago. Just waiting for them to arrive. I was never able to find any on pegs myself.

Those came out August/September of 2013. Surprisingly, they have continued to roll out new versions of the '69 Custom, but no more of this one (as far as a know).

You're correct. So far that's the only release of the '67 they've done. Over a year now since it came out and they haven't done a recolor or anything. It's a shame. That truck looks so much better than the '69 stepside.

Re: Good week for my collection

My girlfriend got me a couple more for Christmas.

Also, a while back I picked up a display case. I had planned to hang it on a wall but I think it's too heavy if I can't secure it to the wall studs. And that's not an easy thing to find in an old house with heavy plaster walls. So I figured I need a shelf of some kind to set it on. I went down to the basement to look at some boards for possibly making a book case style shelf and noticed one I had in the corner that wasn't really being used for much anymore. So I cleaned it up a bit and drug it upstairs. I spent a couple hours rearranging my collection. I still have some 1/64 scale stuff to put out, but I was happy to finally get my big scale stamped steel trucks out for display!

Re: Good week for my collection

I found this monster truck at the Walmart in Bismarck ND tonight. It's using the 67-72 Chevy body. They should make the USA-1 truck with this body like it originally was.

Please, please, please... I've been waiting on the correct USA-1 for years. I remember standing under the front bumper of the original USA-1 back in the 80's.

I talked to the owner of that truck this summer at a car show (He's from MN, his shop is about a mile from my cousins house). They are working on some toys and models but a die cast of the early USA-1 wasn't one of them. I made my plea for it though. Even told him about the Jada bodies that could be used. We'll see.

Re: Good week for my collection

Does anyone have a picture of the original USA-1 truck from back then. I have a couple of extra castings and could possibly do one.

That's a very nice collection you have there. That shelf worked out well for it. I really like how you have a model of your truck and blazer too.

I remember the truck before it was called USA-1 and was blue. Here is a picture:

Re: Good week for my collection

Back in the day, Matchbox did a set of monster trucks which included USA-1 and Bigfoot. Both the trucks are on the same casting, even though they were Chevy and Ford. The casting in ambiguous at best - but more Fordlike. I'm still hoping for a true early Chevy version. I found a custom version on the Hot Wheels casting like the Titan above which is pretty good, but not $35 good.

Here is an example of the one I have now: http://www.ebay.com/itm/1985-Matchbo...3D201699174833

Thanks, although after my move I haven't gotten them out to display yet. I have a closet and cabinets full of my collection. :/

Oh that is nice... wish I didn't look at it as I'm starting to sell my collection. I listed some smaller scale stuff on the parts board and I'll be listing the larger scale Hwy61 stuff when I get a chance.

Nice collection you have, my kids keep asking to play with mine and I don't have a safe place to display them...

Re: Good week for my collection

I had some Christmas money to spend so I bought myself some presents. Found a site that had some things I didn't already have.

This one I really like. My first bike was an 81 Kawasaki 750 LTD. Had it back when I was in the navy. A couple years ago I came across a good deal on an 82 750 LTD. This model is the earlier version, but close enough for me. Love these bikes.

Here's mine...

Had the seat recovered.

Painted the frame silver, and the wheels. New exhaust, foot pegs, mirror, chain/sprockets, etc.

Drilled some holes in the chain guard.

I still need to paint the tank and side covers, new rear shocks, fix a wiring problem with the tail light and install the new blinkers for the rear and I think it needs a valve adjustment. Fun bike though.

Very nice additions to your collection. I've acquired most of those but could never find the Greenlight Black Bandit or the Supernatural set.
