49 guages
if i want to use my stock gauges (1949 3100) with 12 volt, what needs to be changed ? i see where they sell the 12v fuel gauge, is that all that needs to be changed? oil? temp? Volt?

Temperature won't matter as it is mechanical but they do sell gauges with longer capillary tubes to reach the spot where they need to go on non stock engines. You may have to change the oil pressure gauge if you swap engines as the stock gauge only goes to 30 lbs.
As you thought it is probably a good idea to change the fuel guage. The trucks have an Amp gauge an didn't come with Volt meters. The problem with amp gauges is that usually they don't handle the load we put on them if we have sounds systems, AC or power this that or another installed in the trucks to draw far more amps than the original trucks required. Originally about all you worried about was that the battery stayed charged and the lights worked and done.
