Angry Replacement door bottom

I recently purchased a door bottom from a supplier,it was an import. And it fits like SH*T ,does any body make a bottom that has the original lines of the door ? Is there a difference between door years ? I am doing a 72 door and the rib on the inside just is not there ! I'm hoping all sheet metal parts don't fit as poorly as this one does !!

I'm not sure but I think that it's taboo to trash a paying advertiser to this board.
You might want to check the board rules before somebody catches it.

Sorry your door panel doesn't fit. I've had it happen before with cab corners for my 57. When you lined them up together it almost looked like corners for two different trucks. That's the thing with aftermarket body panels, you usually have to work with them a little to get them to fit right.

Spencra:

I do not think he was "trashing" the company directly, just the junk that he bought from them. And I as a consumer would like to know who has junk and who has good parts, whether they are a paying advertiser or not. I know that a few of the other paying advertisers will readily come out and say if their stuff doesn't fit that well, or the color is off, or the doorpanels aren't quite a correct fit, ect...

Now to the topic at hand. I know that they made a change to the top of the doors for 72' with that addition of the hook on the inside of the doorskin which is what the screw near the ventwindow attaches too(this was to eliminate the problem of the earlier skins "cracking" at the ventwindow). I am not aware of any other signifigant changes to the doors.

I would contact some of the regular board vendors to see what they have to say. I know that the early fenders fit like crap, maybe it's the same way with the inner doorbottoms???

Yeah they all usually state that their parts are usually shipped from overseas or whatever and that they may me dented, scratched or damaged through shipping and of course may not be an exact fit.
I was only stating that I believed that it was a board rule (and i'm pretty sure that it is) and that Josh would find it unacceptable and may delete the thread and send a message to 70-K10-292
warning him about board rules. I've seen it happen before I was just trying to save 70-K10-292 the trouble.
If you wanted to know the name of the company you could PM 70-K10-292 and ask him about it outside the public eye.

Just lookin out for ya man.

If you are going to replace/install replacement sheet metal repair panels...you had better be good! That is especially true if you are taking on door bottoms or skins. I have seen them done beautifully, but the bodyman was really good. These repair panels are just "close", at best.
It is great that we are getting all of these new parts, but the quality remains the same---"made in Taiwan".
