VIN decoders only show gasoline - did Diesel exist?
I've never had a diesel 67-72, never seen one, and don't even know for sure they exist, but I thought they did.
But when I look at the VIN decoders you have the choice of gasoline V8, V6, or L6. No diesel option accounted for. Did diesel trucks exist from the factory in these years?

I've never heard of a factory diesel 67-72, pretty sure there weren't any. Unless maybe special built for military, railroads, something like that.

Cool, thanks. I think I have a book covers up to 6500 so I get confused references sometimes.

Re: VIN decoders only show gasoline - did Diesel exist?
yeah, I got all excited when I saw "diesel" in the 10-30 Chevy Truck parts book listings. Upon closer inspection I saw it was for P-series. Those had diesel option well back into the '60s.

Chevy and Dodge introduced their first light-duty diesel pickup trucks in 1978. Ford followed in 1983.

Not factory, but I seem to remember a build thread on this site where someone was retrofitting a turbo diesel into their truck.
