Hauling my truck
I need to take my 68 swb truck to the paint shop and also to the muffler shop. Fixing to buy a car hauler probably (18 ft total - 16ft flat 2ft dove tail), but want to make sure that a 95 z71 single cab truck with a 350 motor will be suitable to pull the trailer plus weight of the truck. I'll have about a 200 mile round trip to make.

Should be no problem with that truck. Trailer brakes are nice to have. I just did 3100 miles in 8 days pulling this with my 94 1/2 ton with a 350.

I agree w too much stuff. Pulling should not be a problem...stopping could be a problem. Trailer brakes would help. I use my Z71 to pull car hauler w loads of hay and have towed my tractor as well.

I pulled mine home about 700 miles with my 02 z71 with a 5.3(327) with no problems. I definitely knew it was back there but we made it home with no problems

Just load it properly with the right tongue weight and strap it down good. Your truck will pull it just fine, trailer brakes are a must on a car hauler, get a good controller. Its a night and day difference what a good, properly set up controller can do for you and your sanity.

Pulled my 70 stepper from Knoxville to Cincinnati (300 miles) with my 2013 Chevy short bed with 4.8. Had no problem at all even thru mountains in Tn and south Ky.Trailer did have brakes and stabilizer bars.

Shouldn't be a problem at all. My pulling truck is a 1993 k1500 suburban. I've put a lot of miles in pulling stock trailers fully loaded and hauled all sorts of trucks including my 1972 c20

most 18 ft trailers have 3500# axles, so 7000 gvw, you can subtract the weight of the trailer and what is left is the weight you can haul.....make sure it has electric brakes on atleast one axle, two is better....you should be fine with a trailer like that behind your truck...I have a 3/4 ton truck that I haul a 20 ft 12,000 gvw trailer with with no problem, has electric brakes....
