1967 Chevy 1/2 T Custom Camper

I was curious if anyone knows how many '67 chevy half ton custom campers were produced? I just bought a 67, 81000 original miles, its a plain jane model, manual steering, manual brakes, radio delete, 327, TH400. I noticed that it had custom camper on the fenders instead of c10, so i figured that it had 3/4 ton front fenders, but after doing some research, I found that they did indeed make a 1/2 ton custom camper, which had heavier rear springs, over loads and a front sway bar, which mine has. any info would help.

Welcome from Utah! Nice find, got any pics? Can't help on the numbers, but I'm sure one of the guru's here will chime in.

Hey Justin, thank you. heres a pic taken yesterday, the paint looks rough, but the body is VERY straight and the two minor rust spots have been taken care of, so its Very solid.

Not bad at all. The paint on mine isn't any better, lol. Does your truck still have its SPID located on the glove box door? It lists codes for all the options you truck was built with. If so, it will say Custom Camper as one of the options. I would post a pic of mine, but unfortunately my SPID is gone.

Re: 1967 Chevy 1/2 T Custom Camper

Recommend check under the seat for a build sheet, that's the only way to know that someone hasn't just stuck a Custom Camper nameplate in the place of the 10 bow tie. Seller claim doesn't mean a thing, unfortunately. Look for a Z81 RPO if you have the build sheet. I've seen only a handful of 1/2 ton Custom Campers, most were 3/4 for obvious reasons, but the do exist. The few I've seen were 69-72. Looks like a very nice truck, good solid body, etc. Congrats, looking forward to the updates!

EDIT: I think I cross-threaded, ha. If you still have the SPID, that will confirm if originally a custom camper (and easier to read than the build sheet). For some reason I was thinking that your SPID was missing.

That's a nice find. I love that it's a fairly basic truck with Custom Camper on a 1/2t all combined. Probably pretty rare and somewhat unique, but no numbers on option breakdowns exist.

Yep, you scored! Nice find. You should consider bringing her out to good guys Puyallup this summer. A bit if a drive, but that rig would get tons of love! Thanks for sharing!

Well I spent most of the morning cleaning up the truck, replacing the wiper motor and basic maintenance...She's gonna be a great truck.
