There is a bit of fab work to mount the Gen I trans/bell to the Ls based engine. I ran the I6 stands, & moved the engine 1" forward from the 6 spot....but my firewall has been cut (ran a BB Olds , in the mid 90's). I think that you will need to pull forward at least 2 inches , on the bell face position to clear on a stock firewall with the rh head? On the 3 speed trans, you can hang an auto cross member under the trans....but leave the bell member under, to keep the trans & bell in position. Then pull the engine, & you can measure for clearance. There are several brackets that you can use to adjust where the engine sets in, But the drive shaft , will be the last measure. On the bell crank, the only headers that I found to fit were a Hooker street rod shorty. If you shoot a PM, I will send you my Cell phone #....I can talk better/faster than I type Longhorn
