Re: Converting manual to automatic, best transmission to use?

Cross member, cut down driveshaft, flywheel, tranny lines and coolers(I run the one in the radiator and an external), computer or controller for the shifting of the transmission, wire harness, shifter(I used a Lokar so I could keep the original shifter location and reuse my boot). Don't forgat to remove the factory mounted cross member that the bellhousing of your manual attaches to. I also converted my 1972 Monte Carlo to a 700r4 after converting it to a 2004r. The 2004r broke and I had a 700r4 sitting and have to say I like that swap. I run 3:08 gears and have a transgo shift kit in the car, knocks down 24 MPG. I run TBI in the car as well. Start looking around the web and ebay, you will find controllers and ways to run a 4L80E, you just have to decide what you can afford.
