I remember working on my dads cars when I was little. Scrubbing parts, cleaning old weatherstrip off. Made for great moments and memories that I havent forgotten. Not to sound like a broken record, but I am 22 and my girlfriend of 4 years now was in a bad car accident a year ago and the doctors said with the internal damage to her hips and everything that the chances of her being able to have kids is very very slight. I still hold hope that I can have moments like I had with my father, watching a child of my own grow and help out with old american history. She loves this body style of truck too so I have been trying hard to get to both of our likings which makes her great. Dont have any pictures to show but that is a big reason I do what I do with these trucks and cars.

my daughter saved birthday and Christmas money to buy her first car and what do you think she bought? the truck I built then sold when I went back to engineering school 11 years ago. It wasnt my idea, she found it on craigslist and even got her uncle to tow it home. she is so proud of it. we have been working on it together it needed some repairs. all those years I thought she didn't give a squirt about cars and turns out I was wrong.

My 3 yr. old grandson (at the time) he's 6 now. Gets in the truck every time he's in the garage. One evening he asked for a screw driver and I though What the hell, trucks been under 11' of water, what could he do. Glad I had the cell phone with me.

The first memory I have in my life is at the age of 3 in 1959 lying under the car with my Dad. I was pounding on something with my little rubber hammer and got a speck of dirt in my eye. He died later that same year in a farming accident. That's the only memory I have of him, but its a good one.

My daughter has been on the 66 since day 1, bleeding brakes, painting and interior. She's says it's her truck. My son (& wife) bleeding brakes, and polishing the hitch on the 66.

Great thread! Somehow never noticed it before. Good seeing the little ones and families getting involved with the trucks. My son Carson (now 5) loves the "old truck." We take it to feed the ducks on the way to school. We're usually the last ones to walk in the door, but it's worth every second. Anyhow, here's a couple pics.

Yes, enjoy those times. I offered my school-age neice and nephew a ride in my C80 fire truck. Neither one wanted anything to do with it. Something seriously wrong with those kids.

Both of my daughters rode in their grand dads 1930 Chevrolet 2 door Sedan to their Proms, I used to pick up the oldest one in Clyde when she was in school, always drew a crowd.

I just got a $9000 ride tonight with my son who is graduating this month. I have been working on a project '68 firebird that we were to do together but ended up being mostly me.
I fired it up tonight and he came running out in his socks and said "we going for a ride?"
I was not planing on it but said sure. It was money well spent.
$9000 is what I have in the project.
