Re: New crate motor leaking get rear main seal

I recall reading on another forum of a similar problem with a crate motor.
The crank was machined a hair smaller in the rear main seal area. We're talking only a few thousanths of an inch. It doesn't take much.
IIRC they do make an oversize seal if the stealership can't cure yours.

As for the 'performance parts' statement he was likely right. THe bean counters (lawyers) won't let them work on them.
