Windshield washer hoses

New to this forum. I have a 1969 Chevy C-20 that I am restoring.

Can someone tell me how many hoses go into the firewall for the washer? I have two: one to the tank and one to the drivers squirter.

Should there be another one? The passenger side is hanging limp. Does it connect inside the firewall or is there a "T" in the engine compartment?

There are three hoses going through the grommet on the fire wall left of the brake bracket, the large one goes to the washer pump from the washer tank, the other two go from the washer pump through grommets and under the cowl panel to the squirters. Pics should help.

Awesome. Just what I needed. The previous owner of my truck put the choke cable through the WW grommet. A bit confusing.

So I fixed all this up and the washer pump doesn't fire up. It looks like there is a big piece of plastic over it and the wiper motor.

How hard is it to get all that apart? I found a 'fix' kit for $10 at LMC. Would that fix it or should I buy the new one? Your thoughts?

Re: Windshield washer hoses

There is an early style and a later style. My 67 had the early style and no parts are available for it. I do not know when the change over occurred, but the later style is readily available at most parts houses. The early style has one big diaphragm inside as shown in the photo. The later version has some smaller check valves. I ended up converting to a separate pump style. If you want to convert to the separate style my WMD thread has more information.
Good luck.

Re: Windshield washer hoses

I believe the hose to the bottle is 7/32" ID, & the hoses from the bottle are 5/32". Sure like to know where to score ribbed hoses similar the originals. Somebody produces them, but they cut em for Corvettes and such, so they're not long enough.

Re: Windshield washer hoses

I didn't even hear the motor buzzing. Could it still be ok?

How involved is it to take off the bezels and such to get it out?
