Core returns

I thought I read something on this site about returning cores by mail. I was going to return a caliper to Rock Auto using a flat rate box from the Post Office. But was looking at their page regarding core returns and noticed that you could purchase a shipping label through them. It was $6 and change as opposed to $13 and change for the flat rate box. You also have your choice of carriers. This included the Post Office for $7 and change. Being a cheap old fart I decided this was a good feature they offer. Although next time I will go to Auto Zone or O'Reilly's so as n ot to have to deal with return mail. Just thought I would toss this gem out there.

Re: Core returns

A lot of times these stores charge a big core charge hopping people will not return them & they make a profit off them. This especially true for the pick& pull salvage yards.
