Oil leaking into cab

I know it sounds weird, but I've got oil leaking into the cab right in front of the passengers feet. If wasn't Sunday evening, I would get my tools out and look into it, but I've got to drive it to work early tomorrow. Any ideas on what or why that could be?

if its actually oil, and this is an AC truck, then there is probably a hole in the AC evap core, letting the oil that's in the AC system leak into the interior box and out into the floor. If its a non AC truck, then its likely just the heater core leaking and its actually coolant and not oil?

A close inspection should point you in the right direction.

Thanks, it is an A/C truck though the A/C is not working. That's my next project, scheduled for next weekend of course. I'm a complete novice as far as A/C goes, honestly. I didn't even know there was oil in that system. It is definitely oil, though.

Check your oil pressure gauge. Mine leaked and the oil will travel across the entire dash. There is like a little lip at the back edge right under the gauge that makes the dash act like a gutter and the oil will travel as you make turns. I know it sounds silly, but that was my leak.

Yep, there is oil that gets added to the compressor to keep it lubed, but some of the oil gets carried thru the system as it operates....if the system is non-operational, then it will probably stop once the oil gravity drains from the evap core. It wont hurt to keep driving the truck as is, until you decide to fix the AC system, but when you decide to fix it, you will need to pull the under hood evap housing and evap core since there is definitely a hole in it. Till then, its just an inconvenience to keep cleaning the floor mat.
